Art AdventuresArt Adventures - 1(Grades K-4) This 6 week class takes students on many multimedia art adventures! Students will learn techniques in clay and attachments and create their own working clock. After firing, the clocks will be painted and decorated with things like gemstones and glitter. A clock mechanism will be added and then taken home, all it will need is a AA battery! A painting will be done while students learn about proper use of brushes and blending of paints.(Grades 5-6) This 6 week class takes students on many multimedia art adventures! Students will learn techniques in clay and attachments and create their own clay mask. After firing, the masks will be painted and decorated with things like gemstones, feathers, pipe cleaners and glitter. A painting will be done while students learn about proper use of brushes and blending of paints.Art Adventures - 2(Grades K-4) This 6 week class continues where Art Adventures 1 left off with more multi-media adventures. Students will create their own clay mask. After firing, the masks will be painted and decorated with things like gemstones, feathers, pipe cleaners and glitter. A painting and other 2D projects will also be created.(Grades 5-6) In this 6 week class students will learn techniques in clay and attachments while making a large clay bowl. After firing, the bowls will be glazed with food safe glazes and can be used for food! A painting will also be done while students learn about proper use of brushes and blending of paints.For all grades and both sessions there will be drawings adding color with marker, crayon, watercolors and chalk pastels! This class allows students to use and explore a wide variety of materials while creating their works of art all while incorporating the elements and principles of art. Students will learn what makes a good artistic composition, as well as, exploration of different media and continued growth of creativity! They will also receive an art book filled with fun activities. Projects are all adapted to the age and grade of each student.Taught by Mrs. Levesque, a certified art teacher with 20+ years of art teaching experience.**A $5.00 supply fee is payable to the instructor at the first class.
